Core skills and techniques covered:

Brushwork techniques for applying water based paint with brushes.

Colour Theory: Understanding how colors work together, and mixing colours

Composition: How to arrange elements within a painting to create a balanced and effective image.

Perspective: Techniques for creating the illusion of three-dimensional space on a two-dimensional surface.

Varnishing: How to apply a final protective coat to a finished painting.

Portrait & Pet Painting Thurs
Thursdays 1pm - 3pm
$60 for four weeks - materials included

Working from mirrors for a self- portrait, or bring along a photo of your special subject, person or pet to create.
Discover the joy of portrait painting in a relaxed, friendly setting.
Over four fun-filled sessions, learn essential techniques for facial proportions, colour mixing, brushwork and bringing your subject to life.
Beginners and experienced painters are welcome, with step-by-step guidance tailored to your pace and style.

Floral Montage Painting

Introduction to Drawing
Wednesdays 1pm - 3pm

Learn to see, feel, and express through line and texture. In this hands-on class, you’ll explore the fundamentals of mark making and sketching — discovering how simple lines, dots, and patterns can grow into expressive drawings full of depth and character. With gentle, step-by-step guidance, you’ll experiment with different tools and materials, developing confidence and a personal touch in your work.

Fundamentals of Mark Making: Discover how to create a range of expressive lines, marks, and textures to bring energy and life to your drawings.

Explore Tools & Materials: Play with pencils, pens, ink, paint, and even found objects to uncover new ways of creating marks.

Drawing Techniques: Learn shading and texture techniques like hatching and cross-hatching, and explore how line weight adds depth and emotion to your sketches.
